BABY, YOU CAN WAIT

BABY, YOU CAN WAIT

BABY, YOU CAN WAIT

There is a particular kind of pressure that comes with being a woman who desires marriage but refuses to settle. People will tell you that you’re too picky. That you need to “give him a chance.” That everybody isn’t going to check every box. And while they may be right that nobody is perfect, there is a difference between having unrealistic expectations and having godly standards.

You do not have to compromise your convictions because you are tired of waiting.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.” Notice that Scripture doesn’t describe waiting as wasted time. Waiting can be a place of renewal, preparation, maturity, and intimacy with God.

I truly believe that in the waiting you're being processed for greatness. Will you wait on God or will you take matters into your own hands?

And let me tell you what waiting is not. It is not sitting around aimlessly for your turn to be saved. It is an action word. It involves a lot of training, preparation, prayer, building and adjustments.

And chale, while you’re waiting, LIVE.

Travel. Build your career. Love your girlfriends. Learn how to manage your money. Become emotionally healthy. Serve God. Laugh loudly. Take the trip. Buy the dress. Go to brunch. Build a life that you don't need a husband to rescue you from.

Abraham sent his servant who prayed and then saw Rebekah. I believe that love story was orchestrated by God. Isaac wasn’t out here desperately swiping, negotiating his standards and making things happen for himself out of the arm of HIS OWN FLESH. But this story truly illustrates "what God has joined together, let no man seperate." Isaac was in alignment with where he was supposed to be, and God was moving behind the scenes on his behalf. Study out God's divine order to the story (Genesis 24). Many times we want to make things work, instead of allowing God to complete His perfect work in us. But that's a story for another day...

Your life is not on pause because you're single.

Psalm 84:11 says that God will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly. So if something requires you to disobey God to obtain it, you can already know it isn't the blessing you think it is.

Waiting doesn't mean sitting around hoping somebody chooses you.

It means becoming so rooted in God that when the right person arrives, you don't have to abandon yourself to keep him.

You are not late. You are being led.
